KATE MCEDWARDS | PARTNER
Kate McEdwards is a passionate and dedicated film publicist with over a decade of experience working in theatrical, festival and streaming publicity. Her career began at Toronto’s famed QUEEN VIDEO where she discovered John Waters and the Dreamlanders, solidifying that she was meant to work with, and belong to, a meaningful community of film lovers.
Kate has held roles at IFC Films, Shudder, Cinetic Media and Oscilloscope Laboratories, where she worked with some of the most important creative voices of the last decade, from first-time filmmakers to long established masters of cinema. Kate specializes in the support and advocacy of genre film and is an active member of her local film community. She has hosted screenings and Q&As, curated film programs, produced a podcast on women in horror and served on several panels and juries nationwide. Kate is an alumna of the University of Toronto with a BA in Cinema Studies. While she will always remain a proud Canadian, she is an aspiring New Yorker at heart.
LAURA SOK | PARTNER
Laura Sok is a dynamic and accomplished PR and Film executive with a passion for storytelling and an innate ability to connect to audiences. Her journey into the world of film began at an early age while working at AGE OF VIDEO, her aunt and uncle’s video store chain in Connecticut where she spent hours watching films, memorizing lines, and telling customers to “Be Kind and Please Rewind”.
After graduating from The Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Marketing and Communications, Laura embarked on her professional career in film. In a nearly two-decade career Sok has held roles at IFC Films, Shudder, Cinetic Media, Relativity Media, New Line Cinema, Cinedigm, Cohen Media Group and Oscilloscope Laboratories where she has led hundreds of film campaigns and championed new voices from around the globe. Laura is a Board Member of the historic Warner Theatre in Torrington, Connecticut, and a member of the Television Academy. In her spare time Sok can be found skiing, hiking or hiking up mountains on her skis!
